We help women leaders communicate.

At Bridgit, we use strategic communications and public relations to drive success in business, win political campaigns, and advance progressive causes. Our clients are women-led businesses, women running for public office, and organizations that advocate for women’s rights.

By putting women at the center of our work, we have mastered telling our clients’ stories with a combination of emotion and intellect, confidence and humility, ambition and humanity.

We also share the opinion of many of our clients that the future is brighter if more women are in charge.

Our vision.

We want to see more women in leadership positions. Smart communications strategies that consider the bias of an audience are crucial to getting ahead.

The perception of women in leadership positions — and of women vying for leadership — often differs from that of the men who historically dominated those roles. Data shows that even qualities considered to be valuable traits for leaders can be assessed as “weak” or “lacking confidence” when they are associated with women.

Bridgit adds value not by making our clients behave more like the men that have preceded them, but by considering the nuances of how women in charge are perceived. We help our clients cater their messaging and communication styles to tell their stories in a way that is clear, authentic, and compelling to their target audiences.

Our name.

The name “Bridgit” originates from the Gaelic word for power, strength, vigor, and virtue.

In ancient myth, the goddess Brigid was associated with wisdom, poetry, and light. She is said to have invented whistling to guide travelers on their journeys through the dark. She also inspired the fire of Kildare: a beacon of hope that was kept burning for 500 years by women who followed in her footsteps.

At Bridgit Communications, we help women show their power and strength to the world. We believe every woman’s story can serve as a light for many more to follow.

About the founder.

Micki Duncan founded Bridgit Communications with the goal of utilizing her political and business experience to elevate women leaders. Most recently, Micki held communications and media operations roles for political candidates and elected officials, including managing media at the inauguration of President Joseph R. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

In 2019 and 2020, Micki traveled around the country with Senator Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign as national press advance lead. In this role, Micki planned and executed media events with thousands of voters, hundreds of members of the media, and thousands more watching at home.

Prior to the Warren campaign, Micki served as Communications Director on federal and local campaigns and in the office of United States Congressman Stephen F. Lynch. In 2016, she was part of the press operations team at the Democratic National Convention, where delegates nominated Hillary Clinton – the first-ever woman presidential nominee from a major party.

Micki also spent three years at public relations agency Weber Shandwick, where she worked on strategic communications for women leaders at a variety of public affairs and corporate clients, including one of the world’s largest publishing houses, Boston’s Olympic bid committee, and a Fortune 50 financial services company. She also managed the office’s pro-bono communications work on behalf of a local nonprofit providing job training, housing, and education to low-income women and their children.
